Dating ID Scammers

Its unfortunately not too uncommon on dating sites to come across online dating ID scammers. Their trick is to get you to purchase a subscription under the idea that you are applying for “FREE” ID verification. They come under different names MeetUp ID, Dating ID, Approval Code, Dater’s Pass, Secure Dating, Safe Dater ID, Safe Meet Arrangement, Dating Arrangement or similar.

They will pretend to be a young pretty woman who is keen to meet up with you. You will receive messages from her like:

• “Get your approval id there coz im not here to play games. I just want to be safe and meet you as well.”

• “the site will automatically send you the Security Assurance id # and all my info.”

• “ I went to the same process too and I can assure that this site I am on is legit. “

• “its a required clearance by the site to ensure safe meeting and discrete hook up by members.”

• “its for the site to know who I am with so whatever happened to me they can call the authority”

• “It is used for online dating and used by international daters members who wants to meet people in person to view or exchange this ID first before meet up. Also, for security sake as well coz we all know that there are so many bad guys now a days. It is also a process of running a verifying just to make sure that I am not meeting with someone who is either a convict or offender. I can help you and guide you to get one. What is your email so I can send you the form.”

.

They will ask you to go to a website and enter your full name, email address, password and credit card information. They will lie to you and say things like:

• “Card Details and any information are mandatory it is for verification purposes only use for age and citizenship verification”

• “it is for membership fee. But you don’t need to worry coz it is a one-time fee only. I am telling this coz I don’t want to lie to you honey, as I want you to trust me. so is that fine with you? can you afford it?

.

So what’s the real deal?

The short story is that most of these scammers are affiliates and getting you to unwittingly subscribe to another website via a false sign up page where they collect your information and use it to collect profit from getting you to sign up to the subscription you never agreed to.

.

So how do you avoid falling victim?

• NEVER give out your password -ever

• NEVER give out your credit card at the request of another person

• NEVER send ‘copy & paste’ messages to random profiles containing detailed personal information

.

If you do unknowingly fall for a verification scam, contact your bank immediately and let them know to block your card from any … purchases.

It’s fun to be online but don’t be motivated so much by sex that you forget to use your brain.
