Finding each other in the era of annonymity...

In the online era, as I would like to call it, we are people that may be talking to each other as close as the next room to half way around the world. This is fine when it comes to voicing an opinion without any negative recourse. However, in an effort to find someone to be physically close and intimate with, it would seem many have chosen to remain in the shadows. It seems self defeating when one is searching for companionship. How can we possibly find that special someone when we're not willing to even talk the time to talk?

It is great that sites have instant messaging / chat features, however, typing usually takes a long time to express one's opinion. Moreover, the amount of time it takes to voice one's thoughts by way of typing breaks continuity of communication since there is often long delays between posts and replies.

In the climate of terror, fear, hacking and deception, we must learn to put away our fears yet remain guarded. That seems to be the problem of today in the online dating scene. A simple remedy is to use voiced applications such as Skype. I think it's best for people to talk by voice and hear each other out. Explore each other as a potential friend with varying degrees of experience that drives independent thought. The exploration of mind is by far the greatest gift we can offer towards lasting relationships, no matter how simple or complicated.
